Job Purpose:The Supply Chain/Procurement Intern will support the procurement team in optimizing supply chain operations through tasks such as supplier research, order placement, and inventory management. This role involves assisting with process improvement initiatives, invoice reconciliation, and coordination of logistics to ensure timely and efficient material flow. Employees are also responsible for the health and safety of themselves and each other.Assisting with Purchasing: Support the procurement team in sourcing materials, components, and services needed for production, including preparing purchase orders and tracking deliveries.Supplier Research and Evaluation: Conduct research on potential suppliers, gather quotes, and assist in evaluating supplier performance and capabilities.Inventory Management: Help monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and maintain accurate inventory records to ensure adequate supply for production needs.Data Analysis: Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for process improvement.Logistics Coordination: Assist in coordinating logistics and transportation for incoming materials and outgoing products, ensuring timely delivery.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier communications, and inventory reports, and assist in generating reports for management.Support in Contract Management: Help review and manage supplier contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies.Process Improvement: Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the procurement and supply chain functions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.Procurement Support: Provide general support to the procurement team, including assisting with vendor communications and coordinating procurement-related tasksInvoice Cleanup: Assist in reviewing and reconciling invoices to ensure accuracy and address discrepancies as needed.Order Placement: Help with order placement for materials and services, ensuring timely and accurate processing.Past Due Order Cleanup: Support efforts to identify and resolve past due orders, coordinating with suppliers to expedite delivery.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as production, quality assurance, and finance, to facilitate smooth supply chain operations.Participation in Projects: Engage in special projects aimed at improving procurement processes, cost efficiency, or supply chain sustainability.Attendance and Team Collaboration: Attendance is mandatory to ensure effective team collaboration and productivity.
Supervisory Responsibility : NoShift Day Shift Information Monday - Friday, 40 Hours Experience/Education/Skills
Qualifications/Characteristics:Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a willingness to learn data analysis techniques.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and suppliers.Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with procurement or supply chain software is a plus.Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to group goals.Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and detail in data entry and documentation tasks.
Working Conditions:Office environment, duties performed indoors, moderate to quiet noise and comfortable temperatures. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions levels.Physical requirements:Occasionally positions self to move an office item >10 lbs.Frequently move about the production floor and office area to attend meetings or trainingsMust be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the timeFrequently operates a computer, enters data into systems, verifies information, etc...
