The ideal candidate must have 6+ years of womenswear design experience. The Senior Design role will support the development of woven and cut and sew categories with some outerwear. The candidate must have a strong understanding of fit and construction with a great eye for detail and a modern design aesthetic. Must also be highly organized, able to problem solve and work with a team.Categories:
Woven Tops, Bottoms, Cut and Sew Knits, OuterwearResponsibilities:Responsible for design development and research for women's ready-to-wear collections.Initiate techpacks with proper specs and construction details.Collaborate with the design team to create mood and inspiration boards for the Creative Director to showcase new trends, inspirations, materials and silhouettes.Assist in the execution of made-to-order projects for various celebrities and VIP customers.Research market trends and styles, ensuring comprehensive product and competitor knowledge and communicate knowledge as necessary through written and verbal presentations.An appreciation for textiles and a willingness to support the fabric design and development by working with specific mills directly to discuss developments, etc.Ensure schedule is met for proper delivery of collections. Help manage work flow between technical design, production and sales.Partner with Merchandising to develop commercial components of each collection. Ensure that product is consistent with market trends and adheres to the codes of the Brand and the business strategy.Bring passion, creativity, energy and inspiration to the team; possess the credibility to influence with conviction.Uphold design integrity and high-quality execution throughout the entire development process from concept through to market.Be a creative innovator, leading to both commercial and creative success.Resonate and create continued excitement around the future of Tanya Taylor.Qualifications:Degree in fashion design required.6+ years of experience, contemporary ready-to-wear experience is a plus.Strong aesthetic/understanding of contemporary women's wear and competitive landscape.In-depth knowledge of RTW design techniques and processes; draping and embellishments.Strong sense of style and color and exceptional taste level.Must be proficient in ability to sketch and illustrate.Strong presentation skills.Proficient in Photoshop/Illustrator/Excel/Word.Please include both a resume and cover letter.
