The Commercial Underwriter is experienced in credit analysis and will be responsible for assisting in the review and underwriting of loan requests to help the bank build, maintain, and accurately risk grade its solid credit portfolio. This will involve working closely with other analysts by assisting with training, underwriters, portfolio managers, and credit administration.

This position is a hybrid role. Position in this function will be reporting at least 1 day onsite per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Analyze new commercial loan requests and perform periodic reviews on existing commercial loans* Conduct analysis of financial statements and assess overall credit risk of new and existing loans* Take lead role in presenting analysis, findings, and recommendations to Portfolio Managers, Underwriters, and other members of the Credit team* Assess and recommend risk ratings for analyzed loans* Be knowledgeable of policies, guidelines, procedures, regulations and systems applicable to the credit team functions* Complete quarterly and annual covenant compliance testing for existing loans in the portfolio* Analyze and document loan modification requests* Assist with portfolio management and monitoring* Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients* Assist with special projects and complete other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

* 2+ years of experience analyzing business and personal financial statements associated with loan requests* 2+ years of experience underwriting commercial loans, including commercial real estate loans* Proven knowledge of FDIC rules and regulations* Ability to work in a hybrid work environment, with at least 1 day per week reporting to the Draper, UT office location

Preferred Qualifications:

* Completion of a formal commercial credit training program* Experienced in portfolio management
