One of our most challenging new fields is Microelectronic Designs and Applications (MDA), which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. MDA is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Systems Engineer with demonstrated ability in systems engineering and in collaborating cross-functionally to develop, maintain, and solve models of complex systems in support of our emerging supercomputing technologies at MDA.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Develop and apply a detailed understanding of systems modeling, engineering, requirements analysis, and design concepts to create, assess, and operationalize MBSE approaches to solving systems architecture, engineering, and integration challenges of MDA systems.
Develop model profiles, system diagrams, architecture frameworks, and model queries in the MBSE tools that capture and analyze systems throughout their lifecycle from concept definition through integration.
Integrate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary technical teams to transform requirements and technical information into MBSE tools for analysis and decision-making.
Analyze current and future systems to address capability and integration gaps and create innovative system design concepts, capabilities, and approaches for sophisticated engineering projects.
Ensure system technical compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements.
Provide detailed, prioritized recommendations derived from analysis results to optimize system performance and ensure compliance with requirements through formal presentations to technical leads and reports.
This position is contingent on clearance.
This position will serve on-site in Linthicum / Annapolis Junction, MD.
This position can be filled as a Principal MBSE Systems Engineer or Sr. Principal MBSE Systems Engineer.
Basic Qualifications for Principal MBSE Systems Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of relevant experience, or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 year of relevant experience.
Demonstrated proficiency with MBSE tools and software, such as Cameo Enterprise Architect or other industry-specific MBSE tools.
Demonstrated proficiency with systems modeling languages (SysML) or other industry-specific modeling languages.
Demonstrated experience with the MS Office Suite (SharePoint, Excel, Word, Project, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat.
Demonstrated ability to communicate cross-functionally and interpret information across multiple engineering disciplines and operations.
Ability to quickly self-learn relevant subject matter from a variety of new disciplines.
This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
Clearance: Candidate must currently have and be able to maintain an Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph

Demonstrated experience in common Systems Engineering functions (e.g., requirements capture and management, system diagram and goal definition and updates, etc.).
Demonstrated experience creating control features to ensure systems effectively meet requirements and quality standards.
Master’s degree or PhD in STEM.
Experience using the Atlassian product suite (i.e., Jira, Confluence) in an agile environment.
Multi-Disciplinary Engineering (Software, Hardware, Electrical, Mathematics, Physics) experience and/or exposure.

Salary Range: $102,400 - $160,900
Salary Range 2: $127,000 - $199,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
