Job Description
The Sr. Director, Renewable Development is responsible and accountable for due diligence, project development, and direct oversight of construction, operation and maintenance of BHE Renewables' renewable energy projects through the projects' entire lifecycle. This role will focus on researching, and developing new/emerging renewable solutions that maximize energy generation, storage, and distribution. The Sr. Director, Renewable Development is responsible for the safe, cost effective and timely execution of project development, construction, commissioning and operations of new renewable energy facilities.
Responsibilities
Ensures the safe and cost-effective project development, construction, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of new and emerging renewable solutions.Manages and directs employees and contractors both at the site and those supporting the project from other locations to ensure BHE Renewables' business objectives are achieved.Ensures compliance with all environmental laws, policies and regulations governing work at the jobsite and on the project.Directly responsible for ensuring contractors performing construction work on site comply with all environmental and land use permit conditions.Reviews environmental scope, reviews permits and audits construction activities.Negotiates and participates in the development of contracts associated with the project (i.e. project acquisitions, tax equity, equipment purchases, construction contracts, off-take agreements and consulting agreements).Maintains project schedules; keeps management informed on specified frequency (i.e. weekly status reports, monthly reports).Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the community and stakeholders.Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field is preferred or equivalent work experience. (6 years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)10 years of related project management or renewable energy experience including three years supervisory management to technical leadership responsibilities.Knowledge in new renewable/alternative energy power projects preferred.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities.Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.The ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds.
