Join our team as an Assistant Transportation Manager and help ensure the efficient and economical delivery of Gordon Food Service products
As an Assistant Transportation Manager, no two days are the same, but typically you'll be involved in the following:Leadership - driver meetings, mentoring, motivating, ride-along/coaching trips, and trainingTeam Management - participation in interviewing, hiring, training, performance assessments, and recognitionOperational Management - route balancing, dispatch, equipment assignments, backhaul schedulingRegulatory Oversight - DOT, Federal, State, and Local regulationsRoute Coverage - during vacations and absencesSchedule: 5 Day Work Week Monday - Saturday

At least 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or GED equivalentClass A Commercial Drivers LicenseCDL-T certification preferred5 of previous transportation experience and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience2 years of consecutive leadership experienceMust be able to lift up to 100 lbs with or without a reasonable accommodationAbility to operate a two-wheel cart with loads of up to 350 poundsClean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standardsSuccessfully passing a drug test that will assess drug usage and a background checkMust have knowledge of DOT, OSHA, Smith System (Keys to Safe Driving), and dispatch proceduresNote - effective, Jan. 6th, 2020, you must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us.
