Position Overview:
The Loan Review Analyst will perform an in-depth forensic underwriting review of closed mortgage loan files for compliance with applicable State and Federal laws and adherence to specific lender guidelines. Reviews include identifying major and minor deficiencies within a loan file, and making a final determination of the overall investment quality of the loan.
Essential Job Functions:
Review and analyze borrower's mortgage applications, credit reports and related documentsReview employment documentation and re-calculate income for completeness/accuracy per guidelinesReview and recalculate asset documentation per guideline requirementsReview credit report and re-calculate liabilitiesReview title commitments and title policiesReview and analyze real estate purchase contractsReview and analyze HUD-1/Closing DisclosuresReview and analyze transaction costs, seller and financing concessions, and assets required to closeReview appraisals for completeness, red flags, health and safety issues, and external obsolescenceAnalyze individual loan files and determine compliance with applicable lender guidelinesIdentify all red flags within a loan file and ensure they are addressed accordinglyApply underwriter sound judgment to determine major or minor deficiencies within a loan fileRequirements:
X+ years underwriting experience with exposure to both manual and automated underwriting environmentsMinimum two years' experience underwriting to FNMA and/or FHLMC guidelines
Demonstrate impeccable written and verbal communication skillsExcellent time management skills with an emphasis on qualityKnowledge and understanding of transaction components that indicate a loan is investment qualityMust be self-motivated, creative and able to work in a team environment while thinking independently and sharing knowledge and ideasMust be able to multi task between multiple analytical projectsStrong computer skillsEducation:
