Program Coordinator - Head & Neck Surgery

KEY FUNCTIONS
OR schedule trouble shooting o The OR Navigator will send a daily email with the preliminary schedule 3 working days prior to the block release (8 working days prior to the date of surgery). o The email will allow faculty to evaluate case length, preliminary case time and room assignments. o The email will allow the Navigator to communicate with faculty about possible changes to the schedule to optimize the Head and Neck Surgery and Neurosurgery block.
Faculty Outages o OR navigator to assist with building a template to track faculty outages due to PTO or conferences. (i.e., on Microsoft Teams). o The template will assist with OR block availability Head and Neck Surgery, Ophthalmology, Oral Oncology and Neurosurgery faculty. o Communication about faculty outages will need to occur between AA's, faculty, Surgery scheduling and the OR Navigator.
OR Utilization o OR navigator will communicate with their faculty about the dates of their first starts. o Notifies and communicates with faculty when unused block is available prior to block release. o Send notification to EHR analyst to release block prior to block release date. o Interface with the Plastic Surgery and other applicable departments on coordinating cases. o This information will also need to be relayed to Surgery Scheduling o The OR navigator will assist with switching days among faculty (if needed) and communicating with Surgery Scheduling.

Education
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
Education Preferred : Master's degree.
Experience Required :
Three years project/program coordination experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, one year of required experience.
Experience Preferred:
Prior surgical scheduling experience
Onsite Presence: Is Required onsite for the first 90 days.
