The starting salary for this position ranges from $18.50 to $22.75/hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
Position Summary:The Driver will provide transportation to residents.
Position Responsibilities include:
Picks up residents at the lobby, assisting them as necessary, into and out of the van, including using wheelchair lift when required. This position assures that each participant is securely seated with seat belt fastened.Operates vehicle in transporting residents from their homes to various locations. Provides other transportation as needed (e.g., appointments and outings).Inspects the vehicle for safety and completes the vehicle check list daily.Provides the vehicle with fuel and oil as needed.Washes the vehicle and cleans the interior as needed.Assists with the scheduling of routine mechanical maintenance and use of backup vehicle.Immediately reports to supervisor of problems requiring correction.Schedules repairs as indicated.Provides independent handling of emergency repair problems.Record keeping; daily safety check list; maintenance log; mileage log, vehicle trip sheet, and others as needed.Compliance with all applicable state regulations (Vehicle Code, Health and Safety Code, etc.).Handles any accidents or medical emergencies according to written procedures and completes appropriate reports.Drives vehicles in a safe manner, with regard for resident security, comfort and confidence at all times.
Qualifications
Education: High School or equivalent.
Training and Experience: Valid California driver's license and ability to operate a large van with skill and safety. Must be 21 years of age or older. No moving violations and/or accidents within the last three years. Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain any special operator's licenses necessary for operation of the van (Class B License including required medical clearance). Experience with handicapped transportation preferred.
Job Knowledge: Knowledge of the transport and transfer of handicapped frail elderly and/or physically handicapped adults or ability to acquire this knowledge. Knowledge of basic mechanical procedure, or ability to acquire this knowledge.
The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, COVID test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
