Senior Inventory Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a
Senior Inventory Accountant
to join our Client's organization. Position is 100% remote with option for hybrid in the NYC area.
Responsibilities:Conduct monthly inventory reconciliations.Execute various month-end closing activities, including reviewing material and production variances, and reconciling stock ledger movements to the Cost of Goods Sold in the P&L.Maintain internal controls related to inventory accounting.Collaborate with internal teams such as supply chain, logistics, and production to streamline workflows and enhance inventory and cost accounting processes.Enhance end-to-end inventory processes and reporting.Evaluate inventory for potential excess and obsolete reserves.Collaborate with operations teams to understand product costs, variance drivers, and optimize inventory management practices.Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to boost efficiency and quality.Utilize data analytics tools to identify cost reduction opportunities and improve inventory forecasting accuracy.Prepare variance analysis and other analytics to ensure accurate financial results.Support external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred.Previous experience in public accounting is a plus.3-6 years of progressive experience in inventory accounting or related roles.Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, inventory valuation methods, and cost accounting principles.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.Desired Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics tools such as MS Access, Power BI, Alteryx, and Tableau.Experience with ERP systems, preferably Netsuite or similar platforms.Knowledge of best practices in internal controls.Annual Salary is $100,000-$105,000
