Altruist is in the midst of an exceptional growth phase and we're excited to hire a Sr. QA Engineer to join our growing Data team.

Your impactCreate test scripts and test plans to enable streamlined data testing practiceAnalyze and organize raw dataConduct detailed source-to-destination data testing; identifying issues with data integrity, data accuracy, and transformation logicValidate transformation hierarchy and cleanup rulesTest data and solutions against business requirements to assure alignment between businesses needs, the written requirements and the solution delivered.Proactively assess risks and help to find issues as early as possibleCreate new and maintain existing documentation for testing the team's solutionsDesign, develop, and improve automated code/data testing & reporting systemsProactively suggest, plan, and integrate new tools and methods to improve what can be tested and what automations can be performedEnsure data transformations and aggregations maintain consistency across systems and time periodsTest upstream and downstream dependencies to ensure that data transformations are correctly propagated across servicesValidate data lineage to ensure data's journey through the pipeline is traceable and correctIdentify and communicate when QA processes are not being adhered to or when insufficient data quality conditions exist in a project or process.Partner closely with the product owner development teams to understand requirements and appropriate use casesWhat you bring

Experience

- 6+ years of industry experience in data engineering and Quality Assurance at a B2B financial services, fintech or SaaS organization

Experience designing and implementing automated testing systemsHave a "test to break" approach and a drive toward 100% data accuracyWell-versed in writing test cases to validate data qualityAbility to identify/triage/isolate bugs in software systemsHands-on experience working with automation for regressionAbility to perform integration testing of data pipelines and the services that consume themExperience working in an Agile project team setting

Technical Aptitude -

You're technologically savvy and can easily get up to speed on modern tech stacks

Extensive experience using SQL to perform queries/analysis on database systemsFamiliarity/Experience in database testing tools like DBT or Great ExpectationsKnowledge in AWS (S3, Airflow), Gitlab

$170,000-$225,000 USD

Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package along with equity in the form of Stock Options (ISOs). A salary offer will be determined by a number of factors including experience, skill level, internal pay equity, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
