Junior Performance Testing Engineer

Job Description
ASRC Federal is looking for a Junior Performance Test Engineer to support a federal contract.
The position will primarily involve creating, modifying and processing load and performance testing for various applications. Some of these applications are updated annually, and others are modified as new requirements are set. The successful candidate will work with internal and external groups to understand the requirements, identify potential solutions to meet the needs and then work with the team to codify, debug and process the scripts. Subsequently, analysis of the results to identify potential bottlenecks and solutions to promote a successful launch/upgrade.
Job Responsibilities -
Responsible for building and maintaining custom tools and databases. This includes being able to gather requirements and determine the proper solution/implementation. Responsible for building and maintaining tools primarily used to load/process data in support of training classes. Responsible for planning and conducting bi-annual load/performance testing on critical high-visibility enterprise applications. Responsible for working with the automation team to plan, build and implement automated load and testing scripts. Responsible for assisting and supporting the penetration testing team as needed. Responsible for working with various development groups to identify methods for implementing load and performance testing tools and scenarios. Responsible for collaborating with development, QA, and operations teams to resolve performance issues. Responsible for designing, developing, and executing performance test scripts using JMeter. Responsible for generating comprehensive performance test reports and communicating findings to stakeholders. Requirements
Experience/Education:
2+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree (ideally in Computer Science or related) or equivalent work experience Required Skills:
HTTP HTML/CSS Java/Groovy Powershell/Command Prompt Javascript Experience with the following tools:
JMeter Grafana Influxdb Git Visual Studio Code Performance Load Testing Background in computer science focused on web-based applications. Experience in problem-solving and resolving issues with web-based applications. Background in cloud architecture Background in HTTP response/request and payloads Set up and manage Grafana and InfluxDB instances to create performance monitoring dashboards. Provide recommendations for performance improvements based on test results. Navigate and use Bash, Command Prompt, and PowerShell to write and execute commands. Scripting and manipulating JMeter test scripts and data using Groovy or other languages.
This position requires SECRET security clearance, so the successful candidate will have this level of clearance, or be able to obtain SECRET clearance.US Citizenship is required.
