Senior Cost Analyst
As a Senior Cost Analyst at Midea America Corp, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and monitoring all costs related to logistics, warehousing, and after-sales operations. Your expertise in maintaining accurate financial records, conducting detailed cost analyses, and developing effective cost-saving strategies will drive operational efficiency and profitability. This role demands a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cost Analysis: Develop and maintain accurate cost tracking records for all logistics, warehousing, and after-sales activities. Analyze costs related to transportation, storage, handling, and other logistics services to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Review and manage budgets for logistics, warehouse, and after-sales operations. Work closely with the logistics, warehouse, and after-sales teams to forecast costs based on operational metrics and market conditions.
• Cost Reporting: Develop detailed monthly reports on logistics, warehouse, and after-sales costs, comparing actual expenses against budgeted and historical data. Highlight significant variances and provide actionable insights for cost control and reduction.
• Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with logistics, warehouse, and after-sales managers to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency without compromising service quality.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve costing processes and systems for greater efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices in cost management.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with logistics, warehousing, and after-sales teams to understand operational challenges and opportunities. Collaborate with other departments to ensure cost efficiency across the organization.
• Financial Planning and Analysis: Support the financial planning process by providing insights into logistics, warehousing, and after-sales costs. Assist in strategic decisions, such as contract negotiations with logistics providers, warehouse space optimization, and investment in technology.
• Inventory Management: Work with the inventory management team to ensure accurate costing of inventory holding, including costs associated with warehousing and logistics. Support inventory valuation and contribute to inventory management strategies.
• Compliance and Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and controls related to logistics and warehousing expenses. Participate in audits and implement recommendations for compliance and process improvements.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CMA, ACCA, CPA) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, with strong knowledge in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management.
• Familiarity with logistics and warehousing operations and related cost structures.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, cost control procedures, and financial reporting standards. Experience in big four accounting firm is preferred.
Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage time effectively, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools, e.g., Power Query.
Working Conditions:
• Primarily office-based, with the possibility of occasional visits to logistics centers or warehouses for operational understanding and collaboration.
• Standard office hours, with flexibility required during monthly closings or budgeting periods.
