Clinical Nurse Manager- Operating Room

Salary Range: $125,000-$140,000
The Clinical Nurse Manager of the operating Room is responsible for providing quality patient care by demonstrating clinical competence, leadership, and by participating in Performance Activities. He/she oversees professional nursing care utilizing the Nursing Process with special attention to the needs and behaviors of the patient population.
The clinical nurse manager will be responsible for the continuum of care for the patient through out the operative experience. In conjunction with the Anesthesia department representative the manager is responsible for the daily flow of the O.R. in managing both scheduled and add-on cases and coordinating these cases with the necessary departments. She will direct the O.R. scheduler to manage the block booking of surgical cases and the availability of both equipment and implants. The clinical nurse manager will monitor the budget by completing the monthly variance report as well as having ongoing communication with the Finance Department to monitor charges and reimbursement. The manager will oversee the mentoring of new staff, daily staff assignments, the scheduling of benefit time, unit schedules, provide educational opportunities, and facilitates an atmosphere of participative management and teamwork among nursing staff. The clinical nurse manager will be responsible for yearly staff evaluations and PI data collection. In collaboration with the Director of Surgical Services, the clinical nurse manager oversees scheduling, evaluating and holding staff accountable for excellence in practice.
