Packaging Machine Operator

Position DescriptionTitle: Pouch Line OperatorDepartment: OperationsImmediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory StaffStatus: HourlyPosition Purpose: Operates the Pouch LinePrinciple AccountabilitiesResponsible for the safe, controlled start-up and operation of the pouch line equipment including starting the machine, engaging the feed, observing the operation, and manages changeover process.Inspects and measures completed pieces to verify conformity to customer production standards.Monitors and adjusts controls to ensure product complies with production standards.Supervises and instructs line assistant in all production based tasks.Maintains equipment through completion of assigned preventative maintenance tasks and minor repair techniques as required.Records quality and production metrics via written communication methods and within time deadlines as necessary.Performs all work in a safety first mentality and with utilization of IPS lean manufacturing skills.Related tasks as requested by supervisorEssential Skills and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or Equivalent required.2+ Years in a Manufacturing Environment experience requiredIntermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time requiredAbility to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basisJob Type: Full-timePay: $16.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offReferral programTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:12 hour shiftEvening shift2 - 2 - 3 rotation, work every other weekendNight shiftWork Location: One location
