UPMC Hamot is hiring a Professional Staff Nurse to join our NICU team in the Women's Hospital!

This position is full-time, rotating day/night shifts. Previous nursing experience required.

**Overview:**

The Professional Staff Nurse, a Registered Nurse, plays a crucial role in the care delivery team by setting care standards and ensuring high-quality nursing care. They are responsible for managing patient care activities, using independent judgment, and collaborating with team members. Their role includes leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision, maintaining strong relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Additionally, they show a commitment to both the community and the nursing profession.

+ 2 year of nursing experience required.

+ Understand principles of growth and development across the lifespan.

+ Assess and interpret patient data to identify age-specific needs.

+ Provide care as per department policies and procedures.

+ BSN required.

+ Establish and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders.

+ Work effectively in a complex environment with changing priorities.

+ Exhibit good clinical judgment and critical thinking.

+ Lead others in applying the nursing process.

+ Mobility, visual manual dexterity, and physical stamina required.

**Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

+ Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within one year of hire or transfer.

+ Registered Nurse (RN)

+ Act 33 with renewal

+ Act 34 with renewal

+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

+ UPMC approved national certification preferred.

*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
