The qualified applicant will join the Advanced Technology Team as an FPGA Architect, responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing FPGA-based solutions for aerospace and space applications. This role requires expertise in FPGA design flows, leadership in technical projects, and active participation in new business capture and customer engagement.Job Responsibilities
Architect and design FPGA-based products, systems, or subsystems; oversee testing and documentation processes.Provide technical guidance to development teams to ensure integration and interoperability of multiple products and technologies.Lead and mentor engineers, fostering development and supporting career growth.Review and develop customer specifications, ensuring designs align with project and budget constraints.Actively contribute to new business pursuits by proposing innovative concepts, technologies, or applications.Develop prototypes to mitigate key technical risks in early-stage designs.Provide input on budget, cost, and schedule for design projects.Maintain clear, concise communication with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, program management, and customers.Act as a key engineering contact, integrating with the customer’s design team to support their technical and business objectives.Participate in proposal preparations, leveraging technical expertise to enhance proposals.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 10 years of experience or a combination of education and experience. A degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering is preferred.Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge.Expected to have knowledge and significant experience in multiple engineering disciplines.Ability to lead major problem resolution efforts and support regaining or attaining customer partner status.Preferred Qualification:Proficiency in VHDL with hands-on experience in the past 2 years.Demonstrated experience in FPGA design for aerospace or space environments, including RTL/gate-level simulation, synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis, and power analysis.Proven ability to translate system requirements into FPGA specifications, design documents, and test specifications.Strong background in defining architectures, leading development teams, and ensuring completion of projects within budget and schedule.Experience in managing technical projects independently and mentoring engineers. Skilled in analyzing and documenting component and subsystem designs, with a focus on cost-effective, customer-centric solutions.Proven capability to lead problem resolution efforts and restore customer confidence as needed.Experience with DSP, MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent.Background in VHDL design for Software-Defined Radios.Familiarity with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools (e.g., Vivado, Quartus, QuestaSim).Skilled in FPGA physical constraints, timing closure, and board-level debugging using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.Experience in generating test benches and supporting formal VHDL verification processes.U.S. Citizenship required.
