PURPOSE OF JOB
The AWS Cloud Engineer IV will lead the deployment, management, fixing, and reinventing the tools, services, and components that the network engineers rely on to automate our network and keep it operational. This position will collaborate with internal customers including network engineering colleagues, and through close collaboration, support, and exchange of ideas, share a common goal to serve our customers and grow through learning and innovation. This role will make significant contributions to our cloud architecture and technical strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs the role of Lead Engineer/Architect.
Designs and develops cloud-based solutions in AWS that are scalable, highly available, fault tolerant and easily maintainable.
Guides and provides technical guidance to platform and application development teams.
Partners with software engineers and conducts code reviews.
Under the direction of IT Leadership, establishes procedures and processes for the AWS platform.
Reviews design documents produced by other Software Engineers.
Provides advice on migrating existing products into an AWS environment.
Educates business by using data trends to facilitate process improvements.
Leads and facilitates all technical aspects of several projects.
Collaborates and supports the design and development of Enterprise applications and integrations.
Champions and applies best practices, including design reviews and continuous integration/deployment.
Works to minimize, if not eliminate, defects upon delivery.
Partners with IT staff to perform a variety of complicated tasks with a wide degree of creativity and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Collaborates and actively participates in all phases of the Agile product lifecycle, including design, development, and deployment.
Monitors AWS What’s New and other forums to identify either changes to services or announcements of new services to determine fit for ICW infrastructure.
Partners with project management and other engineering teams in determining overall system solutions.
Works collaboratively as a key contributor on a high performing team to improve and grow the AWS platform using best practices and technologies.
Regularly evaluates existing cloud infrastructure to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
Provides expertise and shares knowledge and contributions to application development on multiple large-scale, business critical systems.
Writes quality system functional specifications.
Engages and partners with application teams to clearly understand the system design and roadmap.
Actively collaborates with the application Teams to conceptualize, design, and implement application and system architecture.
Works with security team to conceptualize, design, and implement application and security architecture.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisor responsibilities but may mentor and train other software engineers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required with a major in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 7 years of experience working in an Engineering, Network, or DevSecOps role and minimum 3-5 years of experience with AWS required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer and/or AWS SysOps Admin Certification required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Experience with creating designs for AWS/Cloud applications and networks.
Experience in Software design and Cloud formation.
Proficient in at least two programming language including Python, Java, donnet, or dot Net.
Experience with AWS Services including Lambda, EC2, ECS, S3, CDK, Cloud Formation, EventBridge, Secrets Manager, DynamoDB, SNS, Step Functions, Cloud Trail and Cloud Watch.
Experience in working with cloud management and monitoring tools.
Experience with enterprise monitoring tools.
Experience in supporting highly available applications.
Ability to think critically and create solutions for unique scenarios.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Required to lift and carry relatively light materials. Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing corrected to a normal range. Ability to work additional hours, as required.

This position operates in an office environment and requires the frequent use of computer, telephone, copier and other standard office equipment.

The current range for this position is
$113,668.05 - $203,468.21
This range is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at ICW Group, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors unique to each candidate, including experience, education and the location of the role and considers employees performing substantially similar work.
