Providing Global Talent Solutions in Agriculture and FoodGenome Editing Research Spec IIIYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESTechnical, hands-on role that executes, or may lead research experiments across several technical areas to enable development and optimization of plant biology solutions and innovations for row crop breeding with high quality, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration.The primary responsibilities of this role, Genome Editing Research Specialist III, are to:Responsible for carrying out discovery research independently or in partnership with scientists;Responsible for executing research experiments and plans as designed;Responsible for collecting and generating high quality research data;Responsible for organizing and recording experiment notes/best practice documents in a timely manner;Summarize and report or communicate research outcomes;Responsible for equipment maintenance and training on standard operating procedures on the use of lab equipment;Responsible to help ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available when needed for research experiments;Collaborate with scientists to set the experimental priorities and ensure successful execution of day-to-day research tasks;Actively troubleshoot and problem-solve to optimize research procedures.WHO YOU AREBayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:Required Qualifications:High School diploma or GED;Ability to execute various lab analysis in a high throughput setting;Ability to participate in technically diverse and sophisticated assignments using robotics;Broad understanding of instrumentation and scientific principles;Ability to execute various lab analysis with proper recording of data independently;Ability to work with external service providers or outsourcing providers;Ability to participate in moderate to extensive problem solving which includes team members in other analytical labs;Ability to prepare reports with large data sets for supervisor review, under time constraints, across various project types;Understands the scientific basis of the company’s products, has an understanding of at least one job related technical area, e.g., trait testing, trait development, regulatory science, trait introgression, plant breeding, quality management;Ability to be responsible for lab equipment, including maintenance and lab areas;Demonstrated knowledge of specialized laboratory and scientific techniques;Ability to lead a small team of analysts if necessary.Preferred Qualifications:M.S. with 1+ years relevant experience; ORB.S. with 4+ years relevant experience;High School diploma or GED with 12+ years relevant experience.This posting will be available for application until at least 11/18/24.YOUR APPLICATIONBayer offers a wide variety of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
