SUMMARY:Maintains the safety and cleanliness of the assigned facility and performs light maintenance as directed.

This position is classified as emergency personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following:(Other appropriate duties may be assigned.)Maintains cleanliness of assigned bathroom areas as well as replenishment of supplies including, but not limited to, soap dispensers, toilet paper dispensers and paper towel dispensers as assigned.Cleans and maintains assigned areas including but not limited to emptying trash, dusting, sweeping, mop/wet mopping, washing surfaces on a daily basis as assigned.Utilizes power equipment including but not limited to, scrubbers and waxing equipment to provide heavier cleaning assistance when assigned.Secures facility as directed.Light painting as directed.Provide set up assistance including chairs, tables etc, as required.Shovel/salt walking surfaces surrounding the facility as assigned.Maintain cleanliness of the outside area surrounding the facility as assigned.Classified as emergency personnel and must report for designated duties in the event of inclement weather conditions; time and duties assigned by the Director of Facilities and/or Custodial & Warehouse Supervisor.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High School Diploma or EquivalentMinimum of two years of prior work experience as a custodianStrong communication skills both oral and written.Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.Ability to work in extreme (hot and cold) weather conditions.Ability to report to work in inclement weather conditions.Ability to stand, walk, bend, crawl for a period of 8 hours per day.Strong communication skills both oral and written.Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements.
