Summary
The Human Resources (HR) Intern works closely with the broader HR team to support our vast span of potato farming operations across the United States. Our intern will find value by bringing HR concepts to life through every realm of the HR employee lifecycle and being closely involved in the HR operations of our company. You will gain exposure to many facets of HR, including recruitment and hiring, payroll, HRIS administration, daily HR operations, benefits, training and more. Our goal is for our HR intern to gain meaningful, real-world experience related to the critical role of HR in an established but growing agricultural organization.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:Learn the ins and outs of being part of an HR team at an agricultural farming company with multi-state presence across the countrySupport the Shared Services Human Resources team in Kearney, NE with daily HR operations spanning all the way from recruitment and hiring to retirement, and every phase in betweenPlay a significant role in shaping and influencing the summer internship program across all of CSS Farms - being an advocate and owner to ensure a meaningful experience for all CSS Farms internsBe part of creating a new HR Hub of pertinent, relevant information for our employee population by helping to develop and organize a new SharePoint pageBe part of reviewing and implementing current compliance and company process and procedures, and help set up/deliver training to team members across our farmsAssist with maintaining and streamlining electronic and paper HR related filesLearn aspects of full cycle recruitment for positions in various levels of the companyPartner with and learn from individuals across our Shared Services office and HR team to learn about the various HR disciplines and impact of each on the organizationHave input and exposure to other various projects and assignments throughout the summer
Work EnvironmentOur Shared Services office in Kearney, NE supports our geographically dispersed farms - our team members are generally in the office 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through FridayDaily working hours can be flexible with 25-40 hours total per week anticipated
Required QualificationsPursuing an Associates or Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field.
Desired QualificationsIndividual is generally technologically savvy with experience and comfort leveraging Microsoft 365 programs, Adobe Acrobat, and willingness to learn and navigate new systems as neededExcellent organization, time management and project management skillsStrong communication skills - both written and verbal - and high attention to detailA desire to learn more about the field of HR and to be engaged in meaningful projects that impact all team members across the organizationCan embody our company values of Commitment to Excellence, Winning Teamwork, Entrepreneurial Drive and Farming Lifestyle
