Position Summary:

This is a staff-level Cytopathologist position within the

Medical team that will work on-site supporting hospital based clients. The role will provide expert diagnostic information and analyze clinical laboratory data to provide professional pathological opinions.

Responsibilities:Focus on diagnostic surgical pathology case sign out and servicePerform frozen section evaluations, as neededRender expert gross and/or microscopic diagnoses, incorporating advanced molecular or genetic information when appropriatePerform delegated medical director duties with regards to both anatomic and clinical laboratoriesShare equally in hospital pathology on-call schedules and tumor board responsibilitiesPerform rare adult post-mortem examinationsRead and interpret clinical laboratory data and provide professional consultation on clinical pathology inquiriesPerform quality control and quality assurance procedures and participate in departmental professional quality control and quality assurance activitiesAssist the laboratory administrative director and Pathology Chair in delegated supervision of technical and support staffWork closely with clinical and administrative staff at the

Hospital Client as well as leadership to ensure the highest standards of turnaround time, quality, and customer service are maintainedProvide expertise and assistance to technologists and technicians to resolve case issues

Experience & Required Qualifications:M.D. or D.O degree and board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology are required. Additional fellowship training is encouraged.Three years of post-residency experience preferred but not requiredMust hold valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in FL or be eligible to obtain licensureStrong customer focus and understanding of hospital/laboratory operationsAbility to fulfill CLIA 88 if required
