The Financial Controller will be responsible to perform effective risk management and plan the organization's financial strategy. They must be well-versed in all aspects of financial management ranging from simple accounting to broad investment and banking operations.
The position will report directly to the Founder and CEO and will be responsible for managing the finance department. They will provide in depth analysis and management of all financial functions within the organization and help lead the company to profitable growth.
The ideal candidate will be a highly strategic financial leader and possess superb communication and presentation skills, coupled with the ability to oversee operations and evaluate financial processes and outcomes. The Financial Controller will be a collaborative and visible leader who maximizes growth and opportunities in a retail and ecommerce environment.
Responsibilities:
Drive the company's financial planning and reportingPerform risk management by analyzing the organization's liabilities and investmentsRecommend investment strategies by considering all risksEnsure cash flow is appropriate for the organization's operationsSupervise all finance personnel (Book keepers, data entry, finance managers, etc.)Manage vendor relationships and communicationPrepare reliable current and forecasting reportsSet up and oversee the company's finance IT systemEnsure compliance with the law and company's policiesPrepare the annual budget by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans and quarterly forecasting process.Leadership or involvement on requests for both data and analysis, as well as both leading and participating in cross functional and functional groups to drive financial and operational improvements.Work with department heads to ensure budgets are set, and met.Help create a process and steps that ensure a monthly company closeWork with operations and sales to establish data paths and systems for real time data and reporting.Prepare and coordinate the preparation of royalty reports, commissions, and partner financial statements.Qualifications:
5+ years of proven experience as a financial controller, CFO or, finance officer or relevant role, in consumer productsInternational manufacturing and retail experienceIn depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practicesExcellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methodsProficient in the use of the NetSuite financial management platform as well as MS OfficeAbility to strategize and solve problemsStrong leadership and organizational skillsExcellent communication and people skillsAn analytical mind, comfortable with numbersCPA is a strong advantageBSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
