General Skills and Work Setting Requirements: Medical Surgical ICU with diagnoses to include but not limited to Sepsis/Severe Sepsis/Septic shock, Respiratory Failure/Pulmonary diseases, S/P Cardiac Arrest, GI bleed/ Hemorrhagic shock, DKA, Acute Kidney Disease, Complicated surgery cases (perforations), Pulmonary Edema, Pulmonary embolus, Drug Overdose - intentional and accidental, Hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, Hypertensive Emergencies, Cardiac arrhythmias, Rhabdomyolysis, Metabolic Encephalopathy, Malignant neoplasms; CRRT = Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, TTM = Targeted Temperature Management, Chest Tubes, Bronchoscopies, Lumbar Punctures, I&Ds, Central line insertion assistance, Central line and arterial line maintenance, Peritoneal Dialysis, Continuous Bladder irrigations, Continuous IV infusions (pressors, paralytics, sedatives, cardiac)
Ratio / Census: 1:2-3; 15 beds with 13 rooms and average daily census of 12
Unit Systems: Epic (Required), Pyxis, SBAR
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
RTO: MAX 7 days
Weekends: Every other weekend unless otherwise specified
Floating: Yes
Call Requirements: None
Holidays: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.
