Background:
Hartford Athletic is Connecticut's professional soccer team competing in the United Soccer League. Hartford Athletic strives to provide a world-class professional soccer experience and to build community through the beautiful game. Position Summary:
The Social Media intern reports to the Manager of Videography and Social Media and is responsible for promoting the club through owned assets and earned media. The position will include management of social media and digital content in addition to supporting partnership and match day activation. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of soccer, a desire to communicate with fans and the ability to produce creative and innovative content that drives engagement with the brand.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assisting full-time staff with management of:All club primary and secondary social media accounts, including content, scheduling, special promotionsVideo and photo duties, including compilation of photo and video libraries for both on and off-field content;Editing and compiling ongoing promotional video/photo presentations for use in social media and more;Document and archive all events related to the team, both on and off-field.Attend and work all home games during internshipContribute to coverage of all road matches during internshipHelp maintain and update all Hartford Athletic social platformsPitch content ideasAssist conducting interviews with Hartford Athletic players and coachesAssist writing and editing featuresPerform research on popular trendsCreate and execute social media contests and promotionsOther duties as needed to assure success of Hartford AthleticSpecific Job Knowledge and Qualifications:
Must have a strong knowledge of soccerExperience with social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and TikTokExperience with Adobe Suite including, but not limited to, Capcut, Photoshop and Premier Pro preferredAbility to work nights, weekends and holidays on an as-needed basis as well as for all match days during internshipAbility to speak Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred but not requiredThe position will require in-person workMust submit a portfolio to be considered
