We are doing big things.Come join us at eXp Realty – a 7x Glassdoor Best Places to Work organization!What you will do:The Litigation Counsel is responsible for providing a wide range of in-house legal services for eXp Realty, LLC. Primary areas of focus include:Managing litigation, including conferring with outside counsel;Developing litigation strategy;Determining settlement value;Facilitating outside counsel in responding to discovery requests;Providing advice concerning legal issues that arise during real estate transactions;Analyzing and responding to or drafting demand letters, cease and desist letters;Facilitating compliance with regulatory requirements;Responding to or assisting in the response to regulatory complaints;Contract review and administration;Assisting with compliance and training.This role requires a strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and significant experience collaborating with a variety of operational groups in a fast-paced environment of innovation. A qualified candidate must be able to operate with a high case volume and efficiently shift attention between lower value and higher value matters.How you will grab our attention:Juris Doctorate from a law school accredited by the American Bar AssociationAdmission to at least one state bar and currently in good standing.3+ years experience in a law firm environment as a practicing litigation attorney, preferably with a regional or national law firm before moving to an in-house position.Experience managing a high caseload with competing priorities.In-court experience and representing clients in mediation.Familiarity with electronic discovery, including systems for preservation, collection, review and production of ESI in litigation.Prior experience in real property law, including residential real estate transactions, business law, agency law, and contract law.Experience with cost-effective management of outside legal resources.Prior experience in advising clients on various options in litigation and providing recommendations based on the client’s goals and cost required for each option.Strong leadership and communication skills – written and verbal - to work with senior executives across various geographies and functions; comfortable in business and technical discussions.Ability to make recommendations and difficult decisions to implement best practices.Experience drafting and revising legal documents and preparing policies and procedures.Ability to manage competing priorities.Strong analytical skills to work on complex business issues with minimum supervision.Strong research and analysis skills.Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently.Results driven with the ability to meet deadlines.Computer skills in Google and Microsoft products. Familiarity with Trello is a plus.
