The right candidate possesses extensive media relations experience, excellent writing skills, and expertise translating complex technology concepts into broadly digestible stories, along with a track record of exercising high-judgment while acting quickly.

The PR Manager, ML Infrastructure Tools partners with AWS service, business, and marketing teams to develop and execute messaging, thought-leadership strategies and campaigns, and innovative communications tactics. The ideal candidate enjoys diving deep into technology and is motivated by a dynamic, highly creative culture where the challenge of breaking new ground and redefining best practices is welcome. The candidate must be comfortable working sensitive issues and communicating with the media on issues that can impact AWS’s reputation.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Define, develop, and oversee end-to-end execution of PR strategy and programs to drive awareness for AWS’s ML infrastructure offeringsRegularly interact with senior leadership to influence strategy and negotiate decisions in relation to service announcements and messagingWork cross-functionally with product marketing and product management teams to plan and execute PR campaignsServe as a global liaison for international PR teams, helping to support international plans, service launches, and cross-functional PR campaignsEnsure factually accurate representation AWS services in technology and business pressManage sensitive reputational issues with internal stakeholders and member of the mediaProtect sensitive competitive, technical, and business confidential informationDevelop and strengthen relationships with key influencers—traditional and emerging—in technology trade and business pressManage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges with high judgment and professionalismSupport development and execution of events and media engagementsFamiliarity with AI and ML, including generative AICurrent experience managing media relationships, and a network of media contactsExperience supporting large press eventsExperience creating and executing robust thought leadership campaignsExperience with business-critical communicationsExcellent media relations skillsExceptional written and oral communication skillsOutstanding attention to detailDeep understanding of technology and ability to communicate complex topics effectivelyAbility to thrive in a collaborative environment and is willing to roll up their sleeve to get the job doneAbility to dive deep and bias for actionAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
