Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced Civil Litigation Associate to join its team in Freehold, NJ, with a hybrid work arrangement. The ideal candidate will bring at least three years of civil litigation experience, handling diverse cases from inception to resolution. This role involves significant responsibilities in client representation, document drafting, case management, and court appearances, supporting a collaborative team dedicated to exceptional client service.Duties:Manage civil litigation cases from start to finish, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial proceedings.Represent clients in court for motions, hearings, mediations, and trials.Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support case strategies.Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other essential legal documents.Oversee all aspects of the discovery process, including depositions, interrogatories, and document review.Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution methods.Maintain regular, clear communication with clients regarding case updates and legal advice.Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and team members to support effective case progression.Ensure compliance with legal standards, court rules, and ethical guidelines throughout each case.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active license with the New Jersey State Bar.Minimum of three years of experience in civil litigation within a law firm or legal setting.In-depth knowledge of civil procedures, court rules, and litigation strategies.Strong courtroom experience, including trial preparation and direct representation.Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage a high caseload efficiently and handle pressure effectively.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution.Certifications:Active membership with the New Jersey State Bar (Required).Skills:Advanced understanding of civil litigation and trial procedures.Strong legal drafting skills and attention to detail.Effective research and analytical skills for developing case strategies.Proficiency in managing high-volume caseloads with excellent organizational skills.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.Negotiation expertise for settlement and alternative dispute resolution.This position is ideal for a Civil Litigation Associate looking to advance their career in a supportive, client-focused environment.
