Skillset / Experience:
We are seeking a Senior Manager of Security Operations for one of our clients in Clear Lake, TX. This role involves overseeing a comprehensive suite of security and compliance services, requiring extensive knowledge across various security technologies and frameworks. The position will provide 24/7 support and serve as the primary liaison with stakeholders to ensure security and compliance across the organization's cloud and enterprise IT systems.
Responsibilities for this role include:Led the design and implementation of security and compliance solutions, utilizing expertise in areas such as SIEM, endpoint detection and response, network firewalls, and email security.Serve as the senior point of contact for security operations, overseeing incident response and compliance reporting, with a focus on providing continuous, high-quality service.Direct the end-to-end monitoring program, including identifying, assessing, triaging, and resolving security incidents based on their risk level and potential impact.Supervise and grow a team of security professionals by managing their performance, tracking team metrics, and providing skill development opportunities.Ensure consistent, effective performance of security operations, incident management, and compliance functions.Develop and refine 24/7 operational capabilities, focusing on resource allocation, SLA adherence, and enhancing service delivery standards through SOC operations.Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in managing critical customer issues and resolving complex security challenges.Strategic thinker with the ability to act independently and proactively.Substantial background in managing security operations and incident response within cloud environments.Familiarity with leading security technologies, including Splunk, Tenable Nessus, AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.Experience in managing round-the-clock security operations and delivering managed security services.Experience Required:
Minimum of 10 years in technical security, including at least 5 years managing cloud security services and 3 years leading an incident response or security operations team within a large organization.Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage high-pressure situations and provide clear, actionable guidance during incidents.Solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA) and a deep familiarity with current cybersecurity practices, including forensic analysis and ransomware defense strategies.Ability to convey complex information in an accessible and actionable way for various audiences.Desired Knowledge:
Privileged Access Management (e.g., BeyondTrust)Vulnerability Management (e.g., Tenable Nessus)Data governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview)Operational Technology (OT) SecurityMobile Device Management (MDM)Policy and compliance management processesThe security architecture in AzureWeb Application Firewalls (WAFs)Threat detection tools (e.g., Trend Micro, CrowdStrike Falcon)Our benefits package includes:
