POSITION PURPOSE

Are you passionate about relationships? Does spending your days sharing stories of how God has transformed people’s lives excite you? If you love seeing the Lord at work and sharing opportunities to get involved, then this is the position for you! MDI is growing rapidly and with so many people engaging in the ministry, we need someone who loves

connecting people to their passions and serving as a bridge between MDI and our greater community.

The Director of Engagement (DE) is responsible for building donor relationships, generating funds, and recruiting mentor candidates. The DE will lead the planning, implementation, and execution of a half-million-dollar comprehensive fundraising strategy for individuals, corporations, selected foundations, church partnerships and identifying opportunities for new engagements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Expand MDI’s Donor Base -

This position's primary responsibility will be to initiate and maintain new donor relationships. MDI has an incredible group of faithful supporters and an expanding circle of newly interested donors. We need an advocate focused on meeting one-on-one to share the story, ask “who do you know, that should know MDI?” and follow up on new connections. You’ll be given warm introductions, a strong case for support, a long list of contacts, the advantages of a 26-year old ministry, access to the board of directors, and collaboration with our CEO for major opportunities. The DE will intentionally seek new funding sources while maintaining and building relationships with current/past donors through prospect research, donor cultivation, gift solicitation, and appropriate and timely stewardship. The DE will develop a written donor strategy for each relationship, including donor’s giving capacity and crafting appropriate financial asks and invitations to partner. Love on our donors by spending time with them in person, getting to know their passions and interests. Discover what uniquely motivates each donor and help connect them with their passions through MDI.

Mentor Recruitment -

There are so many incredibly gifted Christians in the world who would love to invest their wisdom and expertise in the Kingdom. You can help make this possible by connecting Christian executives to the opportunity to unleash ministry leaders' God-given potential. We’ll connect you with a referral network, mentor criteria, promotional materials, and access to our mentors for candidate recommendations in collaboration with the Director of Mentoring.

Church Engagement -

MDI is offering a new opportunity for churches to host their own mentor cohorts to serve as representatives of their home church. We’re also offering our mentoring and consulting services to churches and to all of their missional partners on their behalf. The Director of Engagement will develop strategies to initiate these partnerships, increase awareness of MDI and create greater connection across our middle TN churches. The DE will have access to our Communication Specialist for any collateral materials needed to promote these opportunities.

Foundation Relationships -

The Director of Engagement will reach out to new funders to help them get to know MDI, and share the impact they can have through MDI on our local community and around the world. The DE can work in collaboration with our Grant Writer to identify potential partners and funding opportunities.
