Identifies opportunities to improve the system/product/services with each iteration.Typically owns software programs and multiple components within the team.Developing and supporting test automation frameworks, execution environments, build systems, and reporting toolsDrives development of component through own and more junior engineers' workWork with product and development teams to implement a full stack quality solutionMaintaining documentation meant for end user consumption as well as project contributor documentationSupport and mentor developers and manual testers through code reviews, knowledge-sharing, and technical leadershipInvestigating and resolving any framework, tool or execution of environmental issues affecting our servicesBecoming a core member of our Productivity Engineering team, helping others increase productivity through innovation, and championing the core value of Disney QualityIdentifies problems and opportunities and recommends the development of solutions.Decisions and actions regularly have a moderate influence on the work of team members, other teams or assigned projects.Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:Bachelor’s degree or the foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a closely related field5+ years of progressive experience in a software development (SDE) occupation, including automated testing of front end and backend servicesProficient in object-oriented design and expertise with one of the following programming languages: Python, Node/JavaScript, JavaExperience with test automation and unit testing frameworksExcellent problem-solving skills.Excellent collaboration skills and ability to use standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools such as Jira and Confluence, and version control systems.Experience leading one to two teams in technical solutioningStrong verbal and written communication skills. Highly motivated, self-starting individualPreferred QualificationsExperience shipping a production Python, Flask or Django applicationExperience in mobile application development and testingExperience with developing applications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)Experience working with Agile methodologiesWorking knowledge of web accessibility fundamentalsExperience with Kafka, Amazon SQS, and KinesisExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, and continuous integration/delivery systemsExperience writing Gherkin Syntax to facilitate the development of automated test scenariosExperience developing advanced mocking mechanisms (e.g., rule-based proxies and dummy-services)Experience with test suite/case/run management tools (e.g., JIRA Xray, etc.)The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA and Bristol, CT is $138,900.00 to $186,200.00 per year and in New York, NY and Seattle, WA is $145,400.00 to $195,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
