A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney with experience in civil litigation to join its Baltimore, MD office. This position involves representing plaintiffs in complex cases and advocating for survivors of traumatic events. The role includes hands-on litigation responsibilities and offers significant growth potential within the firm.Duties:
Manage all aspects of civil litigation cases, including drafting complaints, responding to written discovery, conducting depositions, and preparing for trial.Represent clients in sensitive cases with a focus on achieving justice and fair outcomes.Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and handle court proceedings.Independently manage a caseload, allowing for specialization and development of expertise.Engage in settlement discussions and negotiations to achieve favorable client outcomes.Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience practicing civil litigation.Experience in representing plaintiffs in injury or trauma-related cases is preferred, though candidates with relevant defense litigation experience are also encouraged to apply.Demonstrated commitment to client advocacy and the ability to handle emotionally sensitive cases.Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:
Active bar membership in Maryland.Skills:
Strong legal research and writing skills to support effective case strategies.Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interactions and courtroom representation.High level of empathy and discretion in handling sensitive cases.Ability to manage multiple cases independently while working collaboratively within a team.Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities to maintain case documentation.
