Job Overview:

A law firm in Seattle, WA is seeking a skilled Family Lawyer to assist clients with sensitive family law matters such as child custody, domestic violence, prenuptial agreements, divorce, alimony, and child support. Seattle, WADuties:Advocate on behalf of clients by assessing their needs, analyzing legal situations, and developing strategic action plans.Represent clients in court proceedings when necessary.Provide regular updates to clients on case status, accomplishments, and next steps.Collaborate with senior attorneys to brainstorm case strategies and ensure the best outcomes for clients.Review and draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders.Lead a legal team of paralegals and legal assistants, fostering a positive and productive work environment.Participate in legal team meetings to promote team and individual growth.Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.Effectively manage cases through the civil litigation process.Ensure clients are well-represented at court hearings.Maintain and organize client files to ensure accuracy and currency.Requirements:Current Washington State Bar License (mandatory).Minimum of three years of experience practicing family law.Residency in the state of Washington.Active involvement with the American Bar Association (ABA).Background in criminal justice (preferred).Strong ability to represent both plaintiff and defendant in cases.Experience working on family law and real estate issues (marital property division) for 1-2 years.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.4-year degree with a legal background.Certifications:Licensed to practice law in the state of Washington.Active membership with the ABA.Skills:Excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.Strong work ethic and ability to handle high-pressure, emotionally charged cases.Leadership and team management abilities.Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
