The practice handles a diverse range of high-exposure litigation cases, including business and commercial litigation, construction, environmental issues, and mass torts. This role is ideal for proactive and motivated attorneys with strong research, writing, and organizational skills who are interested in working on complex litigation and insurance matters.Duties
Manage a caseload of 25-30 cases involving high-exposure litigation and insurance defense matters.Take depositions, attend hearings, and participate in mediations.Draft and file pleadings, discovery documents, motions, and briefs.Conduct legal research utilizing Westlaw and Lexis/Nexis.Review and analyze documents for production and examine briefs and trial transcripts for appellate arguments.Assess insurance policies and analyze claims for coverage issues.Investigate claims and develop strategic approaches for case handling.Provide timely and detailed reporting to insurance carrier clients and insureds.Prepare cases for trial and mediation, and actively participate in these processes.Requirements
2 to 5 years of litigation experience, ideally in insurance defense.Proven experience in taking depositions.Admission to the Illinois State Bar.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with clients and insurance professionals.Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications
Licensed to practice law in Illinois.Skills
