Rippling developed a major platform that connects systems traditionally reliant on bespoke integrations or, in worse cases, spreadsheets. These systems encompass payroll, device management, and others.The Events Platform Team builds and maintains a core piece of platform feature that makes magic happen across Rippling. Our mission is to transform Rippling into an event-based architecture, enabling customers to emit, listen to, and act on customizable events. Multiple products are built on top of our events framework, including Workflow triggers, Domain Events, and Audit Logs.As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Events Platform Team, you will play a key role in delivering on this vision by building the fundamental system that makes the Events Platform highly scalable, reliable, and delightful for engineers.What You'll Do:Work closely with stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain a highly scalable and reliable system.Work closely with other engineers across the organization to drive adoption and enable teams to evolve existing products and quickly bring new products to market.Ship high-quality software incrementally and consistently.Qualifications:5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages, such as Python or Golang.Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning.Experience building scalable, reliable, distributed, event-driven systems is preferred.Experience collaborating with product end-users to ensure software usability, accessibility, and performance.Additional Information:Rippling is an equal-opportunity employer. Employees living within 30 miles of an office are expected to work onsite three days a week with those living 30-49.9 miles away expected to be in the office one day a week. Employees living over 50 miles away are required to relocate within 30 miles of an office. To enhance team cohesiveness, new employees are asked to work onsite three days a week for their first six months.This role will receive a competitive salary + benefits + equity. The salary for US-based employees will be aligned with one of the ranges below based on location; see which tier applies to your location here.A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed below.The pay range for this role is:135,000 - 236,250 USD per year (US San Francisco Bay Area)
