What you’ll be doing...The Artificial Intelligence & Data (AI&D) organization is an exciting center of excellence supporting all of Verizon. Our team is a catalyst to Verizon's future in creating networks that move the world forward through the power of Artificial Intelligence & Data.
You will be a strategic thinker joining a high-profile, high-visibility team that powers data science and strategic thinking for Verizon. You will be part of a team that builds tools, analyses, adds insights that inform, quantifies, and enables the visualization of data to drive business decisions for all of Verizon’s networks. With your analytical, big data, and AI/ML expertise, you will deliver business value through business intelligence and data science by driving insights to actions. One way you will accomplish this is by developing analytical views of data utilizing various BI and data science tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Looker, Python and other analytical toolsets. You will also connect various databases to stage data. The business insights and recommendations you provide will help to improve Verizon’s performance across multiple key business metrics.
Performing ad-hoc analysis and developing reproducible analytical approaches to meet business requirements
Performing exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods
Performing geospatial analyses and creating geospatial visualizations to respond to business requests
Presenting results and recommendations to senior management and business users
Strategizing, coordinating, detailing, resource planning, and defining scope on multiple projects with evolving timelines in various stages of completing
Leading collaboration with business leads and VGS to execute all visual design phases from concept and requirements to final hand-off to business unit end-users
Conducting and ensuring user acceptance testing with VGS for database and applications prior to production release to include software testing, quality assurance, and solution certification and approval
Establishing and promoting our brand standards and best practices in and across business units and VGS
Detailing and demonstrating solutions by developing wireframes, production documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and models
Reviewing existing visualizations to assess existing opportunities for improvement within the business and to drive an outstanding User Interface solution
What we’re looking for...You’ll need to have
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
Six or more years of relevant work experience
Knowledge of wireless and wireline network fundamentals
Experience working with data extraction from databases using SQL
Experience with visual science / dashboard design principles
Even better if you have one or more of the following
Masters of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
Experience in applying statistical ideas and methods to data sets to answer business problems
Experience with developing insights, presenting, and influencing strategic decisions using data
Strong understanding of data science
Experience with process, data, and automation work
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Experience with Python, Spark, and SQL to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
Experience with Alteryx or similar ETL/geospatial tools
Working knowledge of data engineering techniques
Proven ability to present complex or technical topics in an engaging way

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $107,000.00 and $198,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
