Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience, at least two years of relevant experienceMust possess a DoD 8570 approved security certification (CISSP, Security+, GSEC) OR the ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of employmentExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and conciselyStrong teamwork and multitasking capabilities, able to handle diverse tasks with simultaneous or near simultaneous deadlinesDemonstrated organizational skills, reliability, and conscientiousness in managing resources and schedules to meet project deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows Operating SystemEffective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholdersUnderstanding of RESTful API design and developmentProven experience as a Python developerStrong understanding of object-oriented programming principlesExperience with database systems, such as MySQL or PostgreSQLKnowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git)Excellent problem-solving and debugging skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentProficiency in Java and Python with extensive experience in developing robust and efficient applicationsProven leadership experience or being a senior member of a development teamDetail-oriented with the ability to break down complex issues into smaller tasks and delegate effectivelyStrong understanding of networking principles and protocolsDemonstrated ability to deliver bug-free code and test large-scale development effortsExperience with containerization technologies such as Podman, Docker, etc.Desired Skills

We are seeking a motivated Java Developer to join our dynamic team of Command - Control (C2) Systems Engineers. As a Software Systems Integrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) and other stakeholders by contributing to Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) projects. These programs are vital in providing US warfighters with the intelligence they need to make informed decisions in the field.PRIMARY DUTIES - RESPONSIBILITIES:Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define middleware specificationsDesigns, develops, tests, and deploys middleware using Python and/or JavaIntegrates middleware with the GCCS-J and TAK systemsTroubleshoots and debugs issues with existing middlewareOptimizes middleware performance and ensure scalabilityStays updated with the latest platform updates and middleware development best practicesProvides leadership and guidance to the development team, ensuring efficient task management and progress trackingConducts thorough code reviews and implement quality assurance practicesDevelops and implement networking solutions that enhance system performance and reliabilityIdentifies, analyzes, and resolves complex technical issues in a timely and efficient mannerMaintains comprehensive documentation of the development process and provide regular progress reports to stakeholdersClearance Information
