The core function of this position is to build robust data products for analytical consumption to support actionable decision making by end users and reduce the need for ad-hoc analysis requests. The position collaborates closely with subject matter experts to gather requirements from users, design solutions, and use Tableau and automation skills to develop, test, and deploy data products. In addition, the position is a leader when needed to identify new development and analyst tools to self-learn, build governance processes, implement, and then support other analysts on company use and adoption.Essential ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with subject matter experts to identify opportunities for building repeatable data products.Gather requirements and design solutions.Expertly utilize visualization tools such as Tableau to build dashboards compliant with design standards.Build enterprise external facing dashboards with row level security applied.Expertly utilize SQL skills for identifying and shaping data for developing solutions.Utilize automation and general programming skills to automate data pipelines and handsfree operations of data products.Understand and codify algorithms and models developed by Healthcare Analysts.As appropriate, create new algorithms and analysis models and codify them.Prepare reports, graphs, tables, and other summarizations that are complete, thorough, and easily understood by those receiving and/or reviewing the information.Create user and testing documentation for data products.Create and maintain technical documentation such as data dictionaries, business glossaries, metric definitions, and other data resources.Update and maintain legacy reporting assets developed in SQL Server Reporting Server as needed.Provide follow-up support for end users after training.Effectively collaborate with other teams within the organization to develop strong data pipelines and reusable data products.Remain current with technology and the latest analytical methods; continually learn new skills.Contribute and actively participate in community of practice and other related analytic committees and workgroups to improve skills and capabilities of all analysts at CareOregon.Participate in code reviews and other activities to ensure the high standard of quality is maintained.Work towards becoming a subject matter expert in CareOregon analytic tools and applications to provide testing and support for our analytic community.

Experience and/or EducationRequiredMinimum 3 years' business intelligence experience that includes some or all of the following:

Use of analytical techniques including segmentation and data miningCreating Tableau dashboardsSQL object development and automationCreating reports using SSRS and/or Power BIEngaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredKnowledgeUnderstanding of data warehousing, reporting automation and data visualizationExpert understanding of Tableau Desktop/Creator products and SQLKnowledge of agile development processesKnowledge of Managed Care preferredKnowledge of Medicaid and/or Medicare programs preferredKnowledge of financial matters in the health care industry preferredKnowledge of medical and/or pharmacy claims preferred
