The Design & Consulting Team serves a diverse set of markets including food and beverage, consumer products, aviation and aerospace, civil infrastructure, healthcare, and Federal Government projects. As a team member at Haskell, you'll have the opportunity to work on impactful projects that will challenge your creativity, innovation, and expand your skill set.In this role, you will be responsible for the production of innovative, appropriate, cost-effective, designs, drawings, and specifications for Interior Design projects.Job Responsibilities:Conceptual Design

Utilizes innovation in design and methodsDevelops design concepts, recommends systems and produces pricing and proposal documents, and outlines specificationsResearches and is responsible for discipline design compliance with proposal/client criteriaEstablish Discipline basis of designDetailed Design

Analysis Ability

Researches, documents, and is responsible for discipline design compliance with all applicable codes, ordinances, standards, and regulationsApplies discipline-specific technical standards and proceduresDesigning for Safety incorporated into drawings

Detailing

Comply with the QIPEnsures office standards are usedResponsible for discipline document checking and interdisciplinary coordination processes. Checks the specifications to ensure that they do not conflict with the drawingsCoordinates work with other disciplines, including outside consultants as applicable. Performs interdisciplinary coordination checks to minimize deficiencies, errors, and omissions in drawings and specificationsLeads the production of well-organized, finished drawings of good appearance, accuracy, clarity, and correctness

Construction Documents

Manages the production of a complete coordinated set of discipline construction documentsSigns and seals design documents when assigned as Professional of Record

Construction Support

Coordinates the review and checking of discipline shop drawings and submittal dataReview applicable shop drawings and submittal data for compliance with construction documentsServes as discipline field interface with the design team during constructionAdvises and assists construction project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors in the interpretation and clarification of construction documentsParticipates in construction inspection to monitor compliance with design intent, construction drawings, and specifications. Prepares inspection reports and punch listsProvides solutions to field problems, responds to RFI's, and prepares field orders and addendaLeads production and archiving of record drawings and specificationsAssists the design manager with project closeout. Participates in post construction review process

Planning, Scheduling, and Profitability

Projects and monitors discipline work plan and advises the design manager on work plan statusProjects, monitors, and informs the design manager of the workload status of project discipline staffParticipates in project strategy meetingsParticipates in the creation of overall key date schedule, including permitting scheduleCreates discipline work plans for assigned projectsPrepares man-hour estimates for discipline workAssists the design manager in monitoring costs of discipline-related outside consultantsParticipates in team review to assure discipline scope is covered in project budgets, estimates, and subcontractor bids

Project Management

Directs technical efforts of discipline staff assigned to the projectMonitors discipline adherence to strategy, key date schedule, and work planCommunicates discipline design decisions to the A/E project team as directed by the design managerAssists in coordinating information with and monitoring discipline-related outside consultantsPrepares Meeting minutes and other communications in coordination with the design managerInterfaces with clients as directed by the design managerLeads production of a complete coordinated set of construction documentsMentoring assigned staff

Education/Experience:Bachelor's or Master's in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited schoolTypically, eight years of discipline experience, typically four years as a licensed professionalProject experience on various projects from simple to complex and small to largeSpecific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:Experience working on temples for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day SaintsNCIDQ CertifiedManagement skillsTemple Design Experience is a requirementBilingual in any languages preferredHaskell offers a very robust and comprehensive benefits package!
