Introduction to Position:
As a Data Analyst II specializing in analytics for the healthcare digital experience, you will play an important role in delivering product and data analytics solutions for leading healthcare organizations. This role requires hands-on experience in product and web analytics with proficiency in tools like Heap, Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), GA4 integrated with platforms like Freshpaint or Tealium. You will work within a collaborative, cross-functional consulting team, using data-driven insights to support strategic business decisions, improve digital experiences, and drive measurable outcomes for our healthcare clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analytics Implementation and Tracking:
Set up, configure, and maintain tracking on healthcare websites and mobile apps to capture critical data points across user journeys.Work with engineering teams to implement and test tags and scripts using tools like Freshpaint or Tealium, ensuring accurate and HIPAA-compliant data collection.Design and maintain tracking plans, including event naming conventions and data taxonomies.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze web and product analytics data to identify user behavior patterns, conversion trends, and opportunities for optimization in both digital and product experiences.Develop insights, dashboards, and regular reports using platforms like GA4, Heap, and Adobe CJA, ensuring clarity and relevance for healthcare stakeholders.Utilize SQL to query, clean, and transform large datasets, enabling detailed analyses that drive client decision-making.
Consulting and Client Communication:
Build strong client relationships by acting as a trusted advisor, capable of translating analytics insights into actionable business strategies.Present findings and recommendations clearly and conversationally, adapting to client needs and anticipating potential questions or concerns.Educate clients on best practices for analytics tracking, data interpretation, and the strategic use of analytics for business growth.Stay updated on industry trends in healthcare analytics, compliance, and data privacy to provide forward-thinking guidance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in analytics tools such as Heap, GA4, Adobe CJA, and tag management platforms like Freshpaint or Tealium.Data visualization skills using tools such as Looker Studio, Tableau, and PowerBI.Strong SQL skills with a proven ability to write complex queries, optimize database performance, and manipulate datasets.Experience with R and/or Python.Hands-on experience with website and mobile app tracking, including knowledge of tagging, event tracking, and customer journey mapping.
Consulting Skills:
Experience in healthcare analytics, including familiarity with HIPAA compliance and the unique challenges of healthcare data.Experience in a consulting environment, working cross-functionally with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and data points for diverse audiences.Demonstrated ability to work consultatively with clients, building trust through effective listening, strategic thinking, and actionable advice.Project management skills to ensure timely and accurate delivery of client analytics projects, with attention to both detail and broader project goals.

Curiosity: Our clients often have unpredictable questions, and analysts should be both self-directed in generating their own queries and areas for investigation as well as interested in digging into client questions for ad-hoc reporting and great service.Adaptability: Our toolkit is changing regularly, and our clients often use a wide range of tools across a range of engagements. An ability to work with varied tools, concepts and datasets is key.Excellent communication skills: We ask analysts to present their findings and results to clients and to internal teams frequently and through a range of methods (oral, written, visual) Communicating the work is a huge part of the consultants job!
Minimum Qualifications:
2 years of experience with digital analytics or related analytical fields.Proficient in data analysis, including data cleaning, transformation, and interpretation.Must be an experienced and polished oral and written communicator.Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
Work environment:
Currently, Modea is operating in a flexible working environment that best meets the needs of our team and work responsibilities. Our team has the ability to work either from home or in the office. Our office provides an indoor space with moderate temperatures and noise levels. This position can be located either at the Blacksburg, VA office or Nashville, TN office.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position during the duration of the workday. Individual must have the ability to constantly operate a computer. Must have the ability to converse with and exchange information to clients and coworkers both in person and through a computer. Capable of occasionally transporting items of 10 lbs or less to and from the office.
