THE ROLE: Director, Solution Architecture

We are currently seeking an authentic and results-oriented passionate pre-sales engineering leader who will join our team to help drive relevance, impact, and loyalty in our customer base. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of sales and architecture leadership, business acumen, technical excellence, and outstanding customer service.
The Presidio Director, Solutions Architect (DSA) is a customer-facing pre-sales leadership position and would support the business in the respective sales regions. The DSA works with the Presidio sales and delivery organizations, customers, and manufacturing partners for the purpose of transforming the customer experience through alignment of business goals and objectives to Presidio consulting services and solution architectures. The DSA is responsible for partnering with their Territory Vice Presidents and Territory Sales Directors to exceed annual goals for revenue, growth, and profitability; and for recruiting, developing, and retaining top Solution Architect talent on their team. This is a critical role as Presidio continues to grow a strong solution-oriented sales and professional services business.
Travel Requirements:
In this role you will be expected to travel up to 25%. It will be based in Glastonbury CT.
Job Responsibilities:
Direct & Manage
a team of highly skilled, geographically dispersed leaders and technical Solutions Architects.
Enable Culture and Advocacy . Recognize the accomplishments and demonstrate the impact of presales team members. Work across internal business units and leadership to identify and be able to provide presales team with resources needed to succeed. Drive an open, positive, inclusive, resilient, change-orientated team culture.
Individual Contributor Growth.
Set role expectations with team members and execute on collaborative growth assessments and plans for each team member against exemptions. Actively mentor and enable others.
Sales Alignment and Strategy.
Lead partnership with area Sales Managers and Account Managers to develop and execute joint go-to-market (GTM) strategies and programs.
Talent Management.
Recruit and attract talent aligned to the needs of the business. Create individual development plans to advance the competencies of the team and to provide career growth.
Professional Services and Delivery Alignment and Strategy.
Partner with Area and Region services delivery leaders to develop and execute strategies and programs.
Account and Opportunity Leadership.
Align resources to the right opportunities and drive a presales process to gain the technical win. Ensure that teams are positioning the appropriate services and documenting detailed customer requirements and expectations.
Client Relationships:
Build and maintain long-term loyal client relationships, as well as establish and attack/convert competitively held accounts.
Vendor Partner Alignment and Strategy . Lead partnership and build meaningful relationships with area vendor partner sales and presales to develop and execute joint Go-to-market (GTM) strategies and programs.
Presales Innovation.
Lead presales innovation for relevant focus areas.
Drive Talent Agenda : Responsible to recruit and attract talent aligned to the needs of the business.
Operational Excellence : Align resources to the right opportunities and drive a presales process to gain the technical win.
Partner with Sales Leadership
to identify the needs of the customers in the territory and drive the right engagement to support financial goals.
Partner Relationships:
Build credibility and strengthen relationships with manufacturer partner teams.
Required Skills:
Excellent customer and vendor relationship skills
Excellent leadership and management skills
Excellent presentation, written & verbal communications skills
Ability to present and capture audience attention to a large room of employees, clients, or vendors
Ability to lead by example
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively, in written and oral form, to a variety of audiences
Intimate knowledge of system and solution architectures
Experience and Professional level Certification(s) in one or more of Presidio’s portfolio of top manufacturing partners
Proven Technical problem-solving and design ability
Demonstrated ability to develop, mentor, and grow team(s)
Ability to travel regionally
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
10+ years combined experience in either presales & leadership, and/or management in at least one of the following areas: Networking (LAN, WAN, SDN), Security, Mobility, Data Center (Compute, Storage, Virtualization, Data Protection), Cloud Platforms, Cloud Management Platforms, Container Platforms, Unified Communications, Security, Professional or Managed Services in IT
