Job Description
We are looking for a Vice President of Tax who will provide strategic global leadership for all aspects of a $9B+ public company's domestic and international income tax in the 80+ jurisdictions where we conduct operations. Illustrative aspects of such responsibilities include ensuring the highest standard of ethical practices, ensuring strong financial controls are in place and practiced, ensuring all aspects of our SEC filings related to income tax are accurate (tax accounting and footnotes), ensuring compliance for income tax in all jurisdictions including transfer pricing, defending our filings upon tax audit, working with and assisting the businesses in planning and structuring a tax efficient global expansion, including acquisitions, and mentoring, training and retaining the best in a tax professional staff.
As a Vice President within the Rockwell Finance Team, you will manage and direct a variety of team members and their respective teams including the Director of International Tax, the Director of Domestic Tax and the Director of Federal Tax.
The VP of Tax will report to the Chief Financial Officer.
Your Responsibilities:
Tax Strategy and Planning:
You will develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize after-tax profits. Compliance:
You will ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations. Oversee the preparation and filing of all tax returns. Leadership:
You will lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Risk Management:
You will identify and mitigate tax risks. Stay informed about changes in tax legislation and adjust strategies accordingly. Financial Reporting:
You will collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate tax reporting and disclosures in financial statements. Advisory:
You will provide tax advice on business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, to ensure tax efficiency. Audit Management:
You will manage tax audits and disputes with tax authorities. Budgeting and Forecasting:
You will help prepare tax budgets and forecasts. Monitor tax expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings. The Essentials - You Will Have: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment. Some travel may be required. The Preferred - You Might Also Have: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Typically requires 15+ years management experience. Minimum of 15 years of corporate tax experience. Minimum of 5 years of federal tax experience. Minimum of 15 years of international tax experience. Tax Accounting US International Foreign Transfer Pricing/Competent Authority Subchapter C (legal reorganizations) Audit / Appeals / Litigation
You will have been successful functioning in a matrixed corporate environment, involving multiple businesses, evidencing solid judgment in balancing reward, risk, resources, priorities. Minimum 10 years' managing people/projects with a collaborative and empowering leadership style. Communicate complex tax concepts to a non-tax audience.
