A law firm specializing in intellectual property seeks a motivated Patent Associate Attorney to join their team in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution, particularly in mechanical arts with electrical and software technologies exposure.Duties:
Draft and prosecute US and international patent applications, primarily in mechanical arts and occasionally in electrical and software technologies.Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.Provide strategic IP counseling to clients.Collaborate with clients and inventors to evaluate and develop patentable ideas.Assist with IP litigation matters related to patents.Requirements:
JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.Admission to a State Bar (Massachusetts preferred).Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution, focusing on mechanical arts with some exposure to electrical and software technologies.Superior academic credentials.Strong analytical and research skills.Certifications:
Ideally registered to practice before the USPTO.Skills:
