A well-established law firm in Portland, OR, is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney with a focus on DUI cases. This role involves managing a caseload, representing clients in court, and developing case strategies to achieve the best outcomes. Portland, ORDuties

Manage a caseload of 25-35 clients facing DUI and related charges.Collaborate with a dedicated legal assistant to ensure effective client care.Interpret laws and explain legal options to clients.Develop and execute case strategies tailored to client needs.Represent clients in court proceedings, including arraignments, hearings, and trials.Litigate administrative hearings to contest driving privilege suspensions.Negotiate with prosecutors for favorable case outcomes.Conduct legal research, draft motions, and present arguments in court.Stay current with DUI law developments through regular training.Requirements

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.Active and good standing with the Oregon State Bar.Minimum of five years of experience in criminal law as a defense attorney, prosecutor, or in a judicial role.Familiarity with metro-area circuit courts (Clackamas, Multnomah, or Washington County).Preferred experience in DUI defense and felony cases.Additional consideration for candidates with Washington State criminal law experience or Spanish fluency.Education

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications

Licensed to practice law in Oregon and in good standing.Skills

Strong courtroom skills and the ability to handle a full caseload independently.Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.Proficient in developing case strategies and solutions.Ability to work effectively within a team and with clients.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Benefits
