A highly regarded law firm is seeking a mid-level Associate or Special Counsel Attorney with insurance coverage litigation experience to join its team in New York. This role focuses on representing insurance companies in coverage disputes and providing counsel on various insurance coverage matters. This is a dynamic opportunity for an attorney with strong litigation skills to become part of a growing global practice.Duties:Represent insurance companies in litigation, focusing on coverage disputes.Analyze insurance policies and provide legal advice on coverage issues.Draft coverage opinions, pleadings, and dispositive motions.Manage all phases of the litigation process, including discovery, depositions, court conferences, and motion practice.Argue motions in court, handle settlement negotiations, and attend court conferences.Take and defend depositions, prepare for trial, and handle appeals.Participate in arbitrations and trials as needed.Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance coverage and litigation.Licensed to practice law in New York (required).Admission to the bar in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Delaware is a plus.Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.Experience drafting motions, pleadings, discovery demands, and settlement agreements.Proven courtroom experience, including handling conferences and appeals.Ability to manage cases from inception through resolution with minimal supervision.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active admission to the New York State Bar (required).Admission to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Delaware State Bars is beneficial.Skills:Strong analytical skills for interpreting insurance policies and legal contracts.Expertise in litigation strategies and handling complex disputes.Excellent written and oral communication skills for client advisement and courtroom presentations.Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
