Litigation Attorney - Insurance Defense

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney to join its team in Los Angeles, CA, specializing in general civil litigation, commercial matters, and maritime/transportation law. This role offers the opportunity to grow professionally within a supportive, small-firm environment, ideal for self-starters who are committed to contributing to the firm’s future.DutiesAssist with civil litigation, focusing on commercial and maritime/transportation cases.Communicate directly with clients, providing updates and legal counsel.Appear in court and participate in hearings and trials.Conduct depositions and manage assigned cases with guidance from senior attorneys.Engage in basic discovery processes and motion practice to advance cases.RequirementsA minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney; experience in insurance defense is advantageous.Active California law license; an Arizona law license is a plus.Strong writing, research, and analytical skills to support case development.Familiarity with case progression and motion practice.Attention to detail with solid proofreading abilities.Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn new legal concepts.Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines effectively.Capability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.CertificationsActive license to practice law in California; additional licensure in Arizona is beneficial.SkillsProficient in legal research and writing.Detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
