Senior HR Business PartnerASU Enterprise Partners is an efficient network of highly skilled teams; it is comprised of a full complement of professional services that work in concert with specialized business units to provide full resources and extend Arizona State University’s ability to achieve its charter.
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources Business Partner, the Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) will be a member of a dynamic HR team supporting six nonprofits that are each focused on creating solutions and generating resources to extend the reach of ASU and advance its charter. Building upon HR functional and business partnering expertise, this role will strategically align human resources principles with business objectives.
What you’ll do:
Consults with Business Leaders (VPs) and their leadership teams to drive business outcomes and interpret what people enablers are necessary to deliver business results.
Leads programs at scale, from need identification to implementation, considering the unique needs of our internal customers and in close partnership with HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs).
Provides guidance to organizational leaders to ensure compliance with all employment laws, regulations, and ASUEP policies, procedures, and processes.
Provides coaching, change management, HR program execution, culture and engagement enablement, and data-driven consultation.
Carries out ongoing performance management support to line management, encompassing coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions, as necessary.
Conducts investigations on employee relations issues in an appropriate and timely manner and provides appropriate recommendations for course of action.
Serves as partner in recruitment activities, including peak planning, and participating in outreach events; builds and maintains effective relationships with schools and community-based organizations.
Collaborates with operational business partners and the HR Team to develop strategic plans and actions to reduce voluntary turnover to goal and increase employee engagement.
Contributes to definition and execution of a talent strategy that accelerates realization of organizational priorities.
Partners with the Learning and Development leader to recommend, develop, and present training opportunities to various units, aiming to cultivate an optimal workforce.
Collaborates with the compensation and talent acquisition teams to establish competitive pay scales, strategically align pay packages, resulting in the extension of attractive offer letters to prospective hires.
Provides recommendations and offers guidance to managers on pay review guidelines and sound pay practices, in conjunction with and under the direction of CPO and Director, Human Resources Business Partner.
Serves as a point of contact to employees, responding to inquiries and ensuring follow-up on questions, concerns, or complaints reported.
Represents HR to customers, stakeholders, and business partners.
What you'll need:
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to meticulously compile, organize and report sensitive and critical information.
Initiative and drive to continuously improve processes and systems.
Analytical and critical thinking with a metrics-driven approach to solutions, possessing the ability to leverage analytics and insights to create compelling narratives for change to gain sponsorship.
Knowledge of HR systems and practices.
Ability to synthesize complex situations into a digestible format for the business leaders and their teams.
Team oriented consensus builder who understands how to achieve buy-in from diverse constituencies, building bridges and designing “win-win” solutions across a matrixed organization.
Ability to flourish in a rapidly changing organization and operate comfortably with ambiguity and complexity.
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Enterprise Partners, its subsidiaries and University business and confidential prospect information.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to change.
Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Suite of applications including Word, Excel, Outlook.
Relevant qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
Five (5) years of HR Generalist experience in roles of progressively increasing scope and in matrixed, high-growth, organization.
Or any equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Experience in a high profile, strategic HR role with executive-level interface and a high degree of executive influence.
Preferred education and experience:
Certified SHRM-CP or PHR.
Experience with Workday.
Master’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
Experience supporting a non-profit organization.
Preferred skills and abilities:
Ability to understand and use data analytics to inform and guide the decision-making process.
Skilled in communicating and interacting with officials at all levels and with private sectors leaders with a high degree of confidence and professionalism.
Ability to find the correct balance between demand and capacity when establishing priorities for the organization.
