Systems Engineer
at TheIncLab, you will be responsible for t he analysis, design, integration, and modeling of complex systems-of-systems , working closely with both internal teams and government stakeholders. You will use
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
principles and tools like Cameo, MATLAB, Simulink, and AFSIM to address national security challenges by developing resilient systems architectures that integrate tactical networks, high-performance computing, command & control systems, data analytics, and unmanned autonomous systems.You will collaborate with mission stakeholders to provide insights, evaluate alternative system architectures, and support key decision-making processes for defense and national security missions.What will you do?Collaborate with system architects, engineers, and government customers to gather and analyze requirements for integrated systems, including tactical networks, unmanned autonomous systems, cloud systems, and data analytics platforms.Use MBSE methodologies and tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, SysML, MATLAB, Simulink, and AFSIM to design, simulate, and validate complex system architectures, ensuring interoperability across tactical, communications, software, and cloud domains.Evaluate and compare alternative system architectures using qualitative and quantitative methodologies, providing insights to inform decision-making.Identify and articulate major uncertainties within system architectures, devise strategies to mitigate risks, and capitalize on opportunities.Support requirements management, interface management, and architecture change management processes to ensure alignment with evolving mission needs.Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to engineer effective solutions to critical systems engineering challenges related to defense and national security.Communicate technical recommendations and system analyses clearly to customer and government partners.Travel up to 20% for system demonstrations and customer engagements.Clearance RequirementsApplicants must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to receive a TS Clearance.An active TS Clearance or active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS is preferred.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on MBSE, system integration, or system-of-systems architecture.Experience with systems modeling tools such as SysML, UML, Cameo Systems Modeler, or MagicDraw.Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and practices, including requirements management, interface management, and risk analysis.Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team and engage with customers.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related field.5+ years of experience with systems engineering and integration, especially for Department of Defense projects involving UAS, UUV, UxS, or similar systems.3+ years of experience applying MBSE in systems-of-systems design and integration.Experience working with Department of Defense systems and mission-critical technologies.What We Offer:At TheIncLab, your purpose is our mission!
