StraCon Services Group, LLC is seeking a

Director of Business Development

to support the strategic growth initiatives of the company. This role will focus on identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities while expanding existing relationships within our target markets. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to drive sustainable revenue growth. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following requirements.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company’s overall vision and goals.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including government contracts, partnerships, and commercial ventures.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, prime contractors, and industry partners.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, program management, and marketing, to develop competitive proposals and solutions.

Serve as a writer for proposal technical, management, and past performance volumes primarily in support of Defense, Aerospace and other government agency opportunities.

Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities within new and existing markets.

Monitor and report on industry developments, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic decision-making.

Prepare and present business cases, forecasts, and updates to executive leadership and the board of directors.

Lead and mentor the business development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and results-oriented performance.

Travel Requirements:

Approximately 15% travel required to industry opportunity related events.

Experience Requirements:

10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the aerospace and defense industry.

Proven track record of successfully securing government contracts and navigating the federal acquisition process for a variety of government agencies including Navy, NAVAIR, NAVSEA, DoD, etc.

Strong network of contacts within the aerospace and defense sectors, including government officials and industry leaders.

Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Demonstrated capability to write clear, logical, and persuasive narrative for a variety of technical and non-technical documents.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Education Requirements:

BS/BA degree; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Allowable substitutions:

An AS or AA degree and an additional two (2) years of experience.

Four (4) years of experience may be substituted for a BS or BA degree.

U.S. Citizenship required

The estimated base salary range for this position is $145,000.00 - $160,000.00. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's level of knowledge, education, experience, and skill sets.
