Director of Supply Chain Management
to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of production planning, purchasing, inventory control, shipping, and warehousing. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding a talented team to consistently meet both internal and external customer service commitments, enhancing inventory management, analyzing and monitoring all Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), and enabling our local site to scale operations cost-effectively.
Reporting directly to our Regional Vice President of Supply Chain Management, this is an exciting opportunity to execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy within a vibrant international organization.This position is an onsite role with presence at our Bothell, Washington location, as well as at our warehouse in Everett, Washington.
Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesDirect activities of all functions involved in planning, purchasing, and inventory control in a cGMP biologics manufacturing facility from the receipt of forecasting replenishment needs to the delivery of the finished product into finished goods inventory.Define and drive localized capacity planning, production planning, and supply chain models including local S&OP processes that feed into regional S&OP processes.Develop supply chain strategies that align with the regional Supply Chain goals to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that optimize operational efficiencies, e.g., OTIF, inventory turns, service levels, procure savings targets, inventory valuation, expiry costs, out-of-stock, maximize profitability, and support dynamic changes in market conditions.Implement process improvements, metrics and processes that drive transformation and optimization at all levels of the Supply Chain function partnering with cross-functional and cross-site leaders.Review total demand (commercial and development) and develop plans that maximize capacity utilization whilst ensuring service level to customers.Ensure the application of Lean and other methodologies to drive cross-functional SCM-related process improvement.Responsible for oversight and management of raw materials, components, logistics for semi-finished goods and finished goods manufactured by, procured for, or sent to the facility from various third parties, globally and across project/product lifecycle.Develop, implement, and execute local policies and procedures according to GDP and cGMP compliance, in a highly matrixed and global CDMO organization.Develop site multi-product, multi-client production, and material planning business processes working closely with the local Procurement and planning teams to ensure compliance with global policies, feeding up into Global S&OP.Work closely with project managers to transition products and support clients, as required.Manage departmental budgets as well as revenue enhancing initiatives.Leadership SkillsExcellent communication skills with various audiences including customers, peers, superiors, and potential clients without compromising company objectives.Prior experience in team leadership, change management, mentoring, development, planning and organizing, and cross-functional collaboration.Coach and mentor staff in maintaining excellence in financial diligence, quality control, and safety.Demonstrated ability to think strategically and create cost-effective solutions.QualificationsRequirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Business, or Supply Chain Management.Proficiency in handling and optimizing international logistics, including import/export regulations.10 years of experience in a supply chain role within the pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotechnology industries; with at least 5 years in a leadership role.7-10 years of experience managing forecasting, planning, inventory and supplier relationships.7-10 years of proficiency in MRP or ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.Equivalent education and experience may substitute for the stated requirements.
